Automator seems a little overkill... why not just install and use wget?

Then it's quite easy to get e.g. Pink Floyd:

Code:
wget http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolmusic/specials/2005/live8/london/london_090_pinkfloyd_breathe_dl.mov
wget http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolmusic/specials/2005/live8/london/london_091_pinkfloyd_money_dl.mov
wget http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolmusic/specials/2005/live8/london/london_092_pinkfloyd_wishyouwerehere_dl.mov
wget http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolmusic/specials/2005/live8/london/london_093_pinkfloyd_comfortablynumb_dl.mov

Even easier, use curl as it's included with Tiger. No need to install anything.

Code:
curl -o breathe.mov http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolmusic/specials/2005/live8/london/london_090_pinkfloyd_breathe_dl.mov
curl -o money.mov http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolmusic/specials/2005/live8/london/london_091_pinkfloyd_money_dl.mov
curl -o wywh.mov http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolmusic/specials/2005/live8/london/london_092_pinkfloyd_wishyouwerehere_dl.mov
curl -o cn.mov http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolmusic/specials/2005/live8/london/london_093_pinkfloyd_comfortablynumb_dl.mov

Nice high-quality videos too not the usual "streaming" rubbish (although admittedly they could've got even better quality at the same bitrate if they wanted to)

Edit: Can anyone get Coldplay "Fix You" working? I can download it (done it twice) but get an error from QuickTime when trying to play it.

Yeah, it's not working. BUT EVEN EASIER!
open the window, do a search for .mov in the source
open that in a new safari window, command-a ->option click the asset.

That would not work then. But thanks for the fast reply!

if anyone has the burning desire to help me out, could you use the yousendit.com service? I think that can go all the way to 1GB.

Why don't you just download it yourself from here ?

In Safari just option-click the link (or after it's opened just save it: cmd-S or File -> Save As...)

I tried that and the saved file was only 8 KB. Seems rather small...

Someone has a site up with all the links - you just have to save them.

Anyone know how to get the songs (just the audio) onto your iPod? I imported them into iTunes but got an error when trying to convert to AAC or ALS.

Edit: I found a long-winded way of doing it: Use Toast to convert .mov to .Sd2f, import the .Sd2f files into iTunes, convert to AAC, add tags.
