Hi. I want the best dashboard mount for my iPhone 4S. It shouldn't cost more than $40.

I want it to be stable - so it won't shake because of every little road bump. I want it to be durable.
It's also pretty important that when I click the "home" button my iPhone won't wobble about everywhere.

I saw a few options:
1. Luxa2 H5 - Can it stick to the dash as well, or only the windshield?
2. http://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Unive...hboard/dp/B002K9IPOC/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top - I still prefer the Luxa because of the flexibility, but remember it should be able to stick to the dash.
3. http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Wi...iPhone/dp/B0031U1AT6/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top - Is it any good?

Thanks.

those are all too weak. when i made my iphone mount I wanted it to be sturdy enough to not move when I press the buttons or while i'm driving

here was my custom solution

For someone not wanting something as intense I would recommend you got with Proclip. they have a car mount for almost every car. Yes it is expensive but worth the price.

I found this one to be extremely sturdy on the road. Never fell off.

Satechi CR -3600 car holder mount for iPhone 4S, 4, 3G & 3GS, BlackBerry Torch, HTC EVO, DROID, Samsung EPIC on Windshield and Dashboard

The key is the 'smart pad'. It will mount to any surface, smooth or not. I have it on my dash. And removable and reusable.

Comes with custom holder for naked iPhone, and another for in a cased iPhone, or for ANY phone. Very well made and is only $28. See the Amazon reviews.

I want my iPhone to be mounted on the dash to left of my speedometer. Is it possible with the mount they provide?
Nope

Or do I have to put it where they instruct me to?
Yup.

See if Panavise has any brackets for your vehicle. If you want a solid, sturdy mount it needs to be custom fit for your vehicle. Such solutions tend to come a at a higher price then what you have budgeted. You'll need to figure out where you're willing to compromise on the matter.

I got dizzy just looking at the instructions. What happens if you want to change phones? or the next version doesn't fit? I always like temporary solutions since these phones are always changing.

Hard to say that it won't "shake" since its linked to the shaking car. (the more your car shakes the more your device will). although the Kensington looks like it might reduce some "shaking"
I found this on ebay, i bought one a while back, used it well, effectively although don't use the phone much when its on (GPS use mostly). I don't know about the shaking issue (seems to be shakeless when i use it) The phone won't "wobble out" as long as you secure it well and don't "smash" the home button while its mounted. Although i am not sure its long enough for your use (its pretty short). I found it for like 3 bucks, but its going for 8 right now. I personally love it, fast to put on, fast to take out, cheap, small for storage, and effective. (If you need additional pictures or details I don't mind snapping a few pictures)

The price restraint keeps a lot of options closed

I use a Kuda mount which by itself is over the $40 mark, but it is OEM looking and I dont have screw holes in the dash. They can be ordered to match the color of your dash.

I also use a Dice cradle, a DCR-300 because my car was manufactured when iPhones were 12V and it wouldnt charge my iPhone4. This cradle converts from 12V to 5V. Works great! :D

Obviously. What people mean when they ask that is that the mount itself won't add to the shaking -- i.e. that the mount is securely attached.

sorry man but that thing is crap. VERY cheap plastic. I got mine a month ago and the plastic grip that moves completely broke off.. what should be the most study part of it. go ahead and try to get your $13 out of it though.

also the rubber adheres very poorly to glass, so you may wanna use the plastic mount base that comes with it.
