2006 iMac - running external display only?
OK, so I have a 2006 iMac (September 2006 version) and I have a 20 inch Apple Cinema Display connected to it. Resolution is good, but the iMac screen stays on. Is there a way for it to turn off, like when you do a similar setup with a Macbook pro?
Or is this the best I can do with this setup? |

You can't turn the screen off unfortunately, I just turn the brightness all the way down. I just wish the lowest brightness would turn the screen off like it does with the MacBook Pro.

So the best mode is extended desktop and make the external display the main one right? The mouse will leave the screen like this. Any other way?
When I mirror them, the resolution on my 20 inch cinema is not right, so I have to use extended. |
