Anyone running 2 monitors via HDMI and thunderbolt->DVI?
I have a 2011 mac mini with the i5 and radeon graphics and have a 23" 1080p monitor that is connected to it via HDMI and also have an older 22" 1680x1050 monitor that has DVI. Want to go dual monitors but not sure if the mini likes dp->hdmi adapters like the one monoprice sells for 6 bucks. The mini does not like the old monitor connected via the hdmi->dvi adapter that apple ships with the mini.

Say what? Plenty of people run dual monitors on Mac Minis just fine...

I'm running two monitors 1920x1080. One is connected to HDMI the other is a MDP to HDMI adapter.
For yours I'd suggest a MDP to DVI adapter. HDMI can be weird when adapted, I don't know the technicalities but there's some kind of digital handoff that it does and it doesn't always work with DVI. Just go HDMI to HDMI for one and get MDP to DVI for the other. Should be fine. |

Running dual dell 24" ultrasharps @ 1900X1200, with no problems, and this is on the base 2011 model with HD 3000.
HDMI>DVI and MDP>DVI |
