iPod nano volume limit

This isn't the normal volume limit question, but quite the opposite.

I listen to my iPod nano 4G in a VERY quiet room, while working on other things and the minimum volume limit is just too loud for me. Why isn't the lowest volume setting zero? Is there any way to make it go lower?

Thanks.
