How long will iWeb be usable?
Hello all,
I'm currently using iWeb and have really liked it since its introduction five years ago. I was saddened when Apple stopped development of it, but thankful that it will still work. I was wondering how long you all think iWeb will be usable? In other words, when will new computers quit being able to run the program itself. Will it be 5 years or 10 years or what? Just wondering, so I'll know how much time I have to start looking for a replacement! Thanks! Last edited by hikeNM; May 16, 2012 at 10:45 AM. |

You know, I may be really stupid, but I didn't even think about the possibility of it not working in Mountain Lion. I was looking past that, but you gave me something to think about!

iWeb in the afterlife
I wonder if Apple might unveil a complete replacement for iWeb. I like iWeb and used it a lot, but it has some real structural issues. Rather than fix it, maybe they will replace it.

I suspect the app will work for a while. I still use it for a site and like it. I probably will migrate to another direction at some point.

Now that would be awesome, as long as it'd be possible to migrate pages from iWeb!

I have 3 websites still left in iWeb, looking to port them over at some stage, but not right now. I really hope that it doesn't get broken in ML, because I really want it!
Do any of you guys have 10.7.4 installed yet? Any issues? |

Yeah I've got it and no problems so far. Had it for a while now.

If iWeb does get abandoned, keep an eye on CoffeeCup.com
They create some pretty awesome WYSIWYG web editing tools for Windows and have started to port across/introduce Mac equivalents. |
