No decent way to say it, but "Cancer Sucks". It takes people of all ages.

I don't really know many of her songs, the only one I am pretty sure was by her is "Last Dance". Though I probably know many of her songs, and just don't know they are hers.

RIP.

I first got into buying music when I was 8, with 7" 45-rpm singles. Three of my first five were Donna Summer singles. I've picked up a few of her other hits along the way.

She was one of the quintessential voices of the disco generation, and beyond. I have her Grammy-winning later single "Carry On," in which she reunited with her "I Feel Love" co-creator Giorgio Moroder, and her voice in it is as smooth as when she started.

Tonight when I get home, I'm going to have to fire up the ol' synths and trigger that I Feel Love bassline in tribute...

EDIT: In response to ericrwalker, here are a few of Donna's hit songs:
Love To Love You Baby
I Feel Love
Macarthur Park
Last Dance
On The Radio
Hot Stuff
Dim All The Lights
The Wanderer
She Works Hard For The Money
This Time I Know It's For Real
Carry On

And here are some disco songs sometimes incorrectly attributed to her:
I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor)
Don't Leave Me This Way (Thelma Houston)
Knock On Wood (Amii Stewart)

And I shed a little tear. Her music and of that ilk were the sounds of my mis-spent youth. The days, well nights, of dances and the club scene.

Rest easy LaDonna.

Her music along with Rock was the soundtrack of my teen aged years. She had an amazing voice and the music still sounds great today.
