Anybody from the EU can confirm this Crucial M4 Deal?

Hi everybody, i'm from Spain and i've just seen this deal:

http://technologies-shop.com/index.p...79&language=es

I think this store is from the UK, but the spanish translation of the website, the weird product information and the price of the Crucial M4 256gb (178 with free delivery, when in Spain the cheapest i've found was 225) let me think that this is not a reliable shop.

What do you think, does anybody from the EU (better from Spain) knows this store and can confirm its reliability?

Thank you very much!!

Hola. I'm in London and know Devonshire Square (where this company's contact details say they are). There is certainly no store there, but they are probably operating from an office for mailing purposes.

Strangely, when the English page is loaded the prices are all still in Euros. Could be nothing, but seems odd for a UK company. Especially when the Euro is in the ****.

Remember having no actual physical store can reduce overheads dramatically, possibly giving the company the small margins that they seem to be offering. That said, I've never heard of them.....

Well, you can change to English quite easily:

http://technologies-shop.com/crucial...UR&language=en

The website supports multiple languages. What is odd though is that it's showing prices in Euros even though I am logging in from the UK and it claims to be a UK company. That's not normal.

It claims the following in the about us section:

Quote:
Technologies Shop is registered trademark of Red Onions LTD

Registration number 6041602 Wells, Somerset. VAT registration number 885 7800 74

So let's go find out more about Red Onions Limited.

Red Onions is indeed a legitimate limited company registered with the UK companies house

http://www.do-business.net/Indexer/C...Red-Onions-Ltd

So do they really run this technologies-shop.com website?

Quote:
Technologies-Shop.com warning, it has recently been brought to our attention that a web site calling themselves ‘Technologies Shop.com’ is claiming that Technologies-Shop.com IS A REGISTERED TRADEMARK OF RED ONIONS LTD and using our VAT number and company number on their web site. Red Onions Ltd would like to advise that we have no association with this website despite their fraudulent claims.
Hmm...

What about some details about this technologies-shop website?

THIS IS A SCAM. I've checked red-onions' registration info and they have nothing to do with this.

Great research.
Did someone already report it.
Chromes phishing doesn't trigger.

Usually if a company isn't listed with a decent number of reviews in a price comparison engine or you can visit it locally, don't buy. Even without theSeb research I'd have said that is not to be trusted.
There is zero data on it from any trusted web site, price comparison site or anything else.

Thank you all for your responses. theSeb, amazing research, very helpful. It seems that i have to continue looking for a good deal, since in Spain SSD's are still very expensive (i want to pay less than 200 for a 256gb one).

No worries. The cheapest I've seen that particular drive for in the UK is 178.

Under 200 ist possible if you exclude shipping costs
http://www.mindfactory.de/product_in...5/pid/geizhals
It includes the 19% German MWSt.
http://geizhals.at/eu/626737
most of the shops don't ship to Spain. Wait a little longer and you will see a price under 200 in some Shop for Spain.
Me personally I don't care about a few more or less and usually go with Amazon if possible. They have the best return policy and customer service I know much better than all those smaller shops.
German Amazon is 211 which is about as cheap as mindfactory since it is free shipping. amazon.es seems to offer less stuff and the m4 prices are higher. Maybe you can order from french amazon or something close by.

I just bought (and installed it) for 192 including everything. I'm from Amsterdam, but this was the cheapest I could find within The Netherlands.

It was a weekend offer (last weekend) and it passed. Now it's up again to 210 exc.

Thanks, i think i'll wait to see prices dropping a little bit more, hoping for an under 200 offer after summer (i can wait a few months). Lets see if the rumored new Macbook Pro helps with that.
