I got a shippment from Crucial today with a 1GB stick of RAM. It was easy to install and all was happy. That was until I collected the mail this afternoon today and there was a bill from DHL for $62.10 which is to cover customs fees (plus a "we help ourselves fee of $9.90) 
I had checked this out prior to ordering from Crucial but it looks like I was given incorrect information. So, for those looking at doing the same, if the amount of your order INCLUDING shipping (the bit I was misinformed about) works out to be more than AU$250 then expect to pay at least $50 in fees.
Moral of the story, I should have bought from www.streetwise.com.au and saved myself about $30.
