Hello, I bought the iPhone 3g in the US a few years ago and then moved to Turkey a year ago.

After arrival in Turkey, we had the phone jailbroken so that we could use the phone here in Turkey. Then, a few weeks ago AT&T unlocked the iPhone since it was out of contract.

I tried restoring the iPhone 3G to remove the jailbreak and to speed up the phone but I am now getting an error in iTunes.

I'm not the smartest guy when it comes to computers, but after doing some research, I think the base band may have been altered when the phone was jailbroken--so the restore wont work.

Does anyone have any tips or steps I can follow to restore the phone?

Thanks so much in advance for your help!
