This is what I'm wanting to do. I just purchased Roxio Easy VHS to dvd for Mac. I have tons of old vhs tapes that I recored movies off of the tv when i was younger. Some of them have commercials in the movies. I need a good application that will let me go in and cut the commercials out of the movies. I know that iMovie will and I have iMovie, but it takes so long to me. Bc the Roxio software is putting the movies in mpg and iMovie won't open them, so I'm having to convert them to mp4 and them open them in iMovie which takes a while, then exporting them takes an hr or 2. Is there any other applications that will let me do this but quicker.

MPEGStreamclip has an editing function, although not having used it to edit, I can't say how easy it is to use.
