I had something get screwed up last night so I tried to restore from itunes under ios 5.1.1 (itunes 10.6.1)
Well not only does it do the coerced update to 5.1.1 which I had already done, but it makes a new backup from the restore apparently destroying my most recent data.

I have also noticed that every time I do this it is like I have to restore twice or in this case 3 times. How can I make new restore points that Itunes wont write over so instead of a 3 or 4 month old backup that is semiuncorrupted, I can get a more recent one ITunes doesnt write over itself.

I sent a letter to Mr Cook for all the good it will do.
