My Macbook Pro 13" has 4 GB RAM, an Intel Core 2 Duo, and 125/250 GB free HD space.

It has recently slowed down. Opening programs takes longer, opening Warcraft 3 (an almost 10 year old game) takes longer than it used to. And while I play, I have experienced more lag, although I have tried playing in more than one location.

I accidentally clicked on the wrong link on a web page, and might have downloaded something I shouldn't have. I cancelled the download and didn't run it. The download did not show up in my Google Chrome browser. Should I download some anti-virus or something? I always heard you didn't need it if you were careful.... But I wasn't.

What can I do to speed it up again? Thanks in advance.
