I was surfing for new products today and came upon these:

The Panasonic RP-HJE120-D. Prices range from $6-9 bucks. And judging from the reviews from cnet and head-fi so far, look like an absolute steal. It was cheap enough for an impulse buy for me and I got one coming. I think this would be perfect if you're looking for a small upgrade from the default Apple buds.
