Itunes cards discounted at Best Buy

Thanks for the heads up. I picked up several a few weeks ago when BB had the $100 card on sale for $80. A $15 savings is good, but not quite as good as $20.

Thanks, for the info, too bad the savings aren't as great. I still dont know how best buy can offer discounts with iTunes cards.

It's always great when people post info like this. Even though you might not be able to take advantage of it every time, it's nice to have the option. And you're right, a 15% discount on a $100 gift card is still sweet.

I bought $150 worth of credit, I can run through $150 relatively fast for music let alone Apps.

You know if I were to look up all my receipts and add them up I think I'd be throughly disgusted with how much money I have spent on the iTS..could have probably bought a pretty nice used car.

They've had this since last week. I wonder if it will last until next week again.

That's how my wife feels about my Starbucks habbit.

Always nice to catch these on sale. 15% isn't as good as 20%, but in a land where discounts almost never exist, I'll take what I can get.

Not likely to go back to 20%. In fact when it was 20% you could get a better deal by buying 4 $25 cards.

i haven't purchased anything from iTunes in a while so i'm not sure what the files are now?

what bit-rate? what file type? have they completely removed the DRM protections?

sorry for the noob questions, the last time i bought a song on iTunes was when it was a 128 protected file

Last 20% off BB sale was just a few weeks ago (5/22/2012) with their Deal of the Day. Even had the $100 card for $80.

Checked the last few I've bought:

File type: AAC
Bit rate: 256 kbps
Sample Rate: 44.100 kHz
DRM: NONE

There is no DRM protection anymore for any music on iTunes.

Apple takes a 30% cut of every song/movie/album sold on iTunes. So their cost on a $100 card is $70. So best buy can easily sell it for $85, or $80 and still make good profit.

The best deal I have ever seen was when Walmart was selling them at cost i.e. a $50 card for $35.

Its often at 20% off and not just from Best Buy.
