Angry Reminder sends my data to Apple

Everytime I start the Reminders app, I can see the little internet access circle on the top left (next to my wifi meter) spin.

When I add a new reminder, a couple of seconds later, the Reminder program accesses the internet.

Is apple stealing my ToDo list data - this breaks all privacy laws - because I cannot stop the app from send data out.

Apple could use this data to see what stuff I am doing (eg buy car insurance), then sell this information to marketing companies etc.

Can anyone confirm this?

If they are doing this, they need to be stopped

Do you have location based reminders on?

It's probably syncing with iCloud.

I would assume that it's syncing your reminders to iCloud. Apple can't see what reminders you create; you have nothing to worry about.

I turned off Location Based services for Reminder. Still the same

I turned off iCould sync. for Reminders and it is not accessing the internet anymore.

That seemed to do the trick!

Thanks!

The spinning icon in the left of the menu bar would not come up for a location-based reminder -- the little location arrow symbol would appear in the right of the menubar to the left of the battery indicator until you reach/leave your destination.

Glad to hear that turning off iCloud worked, but it really wasn't necessary in my opinion; Apple can't see anything that syncs to iCloud, it's really for your convenience so that if you have multiple devices, stuff like reminders, calendar events, contacts, etc can be synced to all of those devices without having to enter them a bunch of times.
