I picked up a low end RMBP from best buy in omaha yesterday. Today I figured I would try it out against my mac pro. I loaded up the same HD video on both and hit the share video button. The RMBP finished the export a few seconds faster than the mac pro. I loaded up the photoshop speed test, and they finished within 1 second of each other.

Yeah looks like most MPs are gonna be slower seeing as how they are so dated.
Is urs a 2010?

Now if that MSI GUSII ever comes out... Might displace MPs even more.

right..... compile some MPI code that is properly threaded and tuned. those 8 cores will stomp on the the rmbp
to each his own, i compile my own code that i use everyday, ffmpeg, vlc, etc. things that you do with apps like final cut, i hack ffmpeg scripts.
