I just bought a 2010 Mac Pro 5,1 (2.8GHz Quad). I moved my OWC Mercury Electra 6G SSD over from my 2006 Mac Pro 1,1. The new Mac takes 51 seconds to boot (incl. login), but my 2006 Mac Pro took only 25 seconds.
The SSD was attached to one of the extra SATA ports on the motherboard of my 2006 Mac Pro. It is now attached to the 2nd SATA port in the optical drive bay of the 2010 Mac Pro. Both computers have the same four 3TB hard drives in the drive sleds. And I don't know if it makes a difference, but the new Mac Pro only has 3GB of RAM right now. And 10.7.4 is the OS.
Anyone know why this is or how to fix it.
