Hey everyone,

This is my first post on the forum. I have an old hardrive from a windows desktop. Is it possible to wipe that hard drive completely so it has no information on it at all using a macbook pro (or even another windows laptop)? Once it's wiped clean I wanted to get rid of it. I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place. Thanks for your help!

Michael

Edit: I also have this software burnt to a disk and ready to go. http://www.dban.org/

dban is a great utility and will do exactly what you want regardless of the OS on the computer.

Thanks! Yea I was just on OWC and the tech was really helpful. He told me I could use this product http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/U3NVSPATA/ to connect the old desktop windows hard drive to the mac. I wasn't sure what I needed. He told me I could go through desk utility and wipe it that way If I wanted. I just looked and there's options for how many passes I want etc. I guess either that or dban would work well?
