I have seen this one but it doesn't look like it would be up to protecting from drops etc much.

I'm guessing your friend has a speck case?
https://www.speckproducts.com/macboo...cbook-pro.html

I read some mixed reviews including people experiencing overheating and 'burns' on the MBP from it. I'm guessing what they experienced were actually scratches from the dust/dirt getting in between the case and the laptop.

Have you checked out the rickshawbags sleeves?

Add me to the list of people who REALLY like the SFbag design, but want to hear your better suggestion. So far it appears to be the best one I've seen on here if you can live with a stand-alone case that's larger than a slip.

That's straight up the best looking slip I've seen. I'm tempted to get one of these for day trips, and an Waterfield CitySlicker for anything where I need to carry stuff. Of course that's almost $300 in cases. Ha.

I own one for my 13" MBA. It is definitely very sleek. My only warning is that for certain leather types, it 'bruises' / scratches easily. It is also pretty heavy relative to the Air.

For the Retina, I think I am going with the CitySlicker from SFBags this time. Seems a little more versatile.

Waiting for new Booq models

By the way, does anyone know anywhere to get a metal custom engraved metal bag tag? Like the Booq Terralinq, but I want to customize with my name and artwork

The sleeve will ship early July it looks like, so if you're waiting on your rMBP, add one more item to your wait list.
If I ever get another model-specific sleeve, it'll be a hardgraft. Love their designs.

Looks like a nice messenger bag. I don't have any experience with Colcasacs bags but if you are looking for more of the classic messenger chrome has one too. It's actually a bit larger than the Colcasac as well.

I have four bags from chrome and have nothing but great things to say about all of them. Easily the most durable backpacks/messengers ive ever used, and everything they sell is covered by a lifetime warranty.

If you are looking for a basic messenger, I would give the chrome one a look. Plus, it's half the price of that Colcasac one!

Ordered the Picaso Lab one. That'll be my go-to when going to client meetings or around town. Still mulling over *also* getting a CitySlicker for when I need to travel with accessories. I definitely want something slim that also has accessory pockets. So far really only the City Slicker wins. I need to be able to carry a small Wacom tablet, charger, and SSD external.

I've been looking at the chrome backpacks- they look quite good, but came accross these by mission workshop:

http://missionworkshop.com/products/...k/sanction.php

A bit more pricey but all compartments are waterproof/resistent. Anyone have any experience with mission workshop gear?

I just received my Booq Viper XS3 for my Macbook Pro 13", and it's very nice. I shopped around for a while for a quality sleeve for my Macbook and the Booq's just seemed like the best quality. Yes, they cost a bit more. However, it's a small investment to protect your larger investment. My only gripe is that it's sort of thick, however, it's technically a hardshell case, so it's exspected.

This case is very nice, glade I chose it over a snap on case or skin.

I've used these for about 2 years on my MBP. Kept it in perfect condition. No problem whatsoever. Just remember to take them off once in awhile to clean the dirt and dust and let your mbp breathe.

I'm waiting for them as well for my rMBP.

Its as if they dont want you to look to closely. I aint spending $150+ without detailed pictures.

The zipper contacts your MacBook Pro. I saw it in the video review.

I can confirm that at the moment our Retina packaging is not yet in print due to the short time scales involved, but our Retina sleeves are made specifically for the Retina, in our Utah factory, and are designed to fit your laptop perfectly. If thatís not the case with your sleeve then we are at fault and weíll get this issue resolved for you.

Rest assured, if once I have gone through the information and can determine that you were either sent the wrong item, or that it did not fit, we will re-credit any amount you have paid for shipping it back to us (via the means that you made the payment), as well ensuring that you are sent the right item.

I can see Email and chat transcripts that relates to a similar issue in our system but please can you email contact@colcasac.com with your details (Ref: Freeskier989) so that I can be sure I am looking through the correct information. Or, please PM me and I will provide my direct Email.

I look forward to hearing from you and to getting this issue resolved quickly and satisfactorily.

Hey Marcus...its easier to sell your products if you have many more close up and detailed pictures of the outside AND inside. Thanks

I can't find a single sleeve that I like (yeah... I'm very picky!). So, I'm thinking about making my own!

Goodness knows how though!

Those are absolutely beautiful. But you're right, they're not cheap.

This is a gorgeous bag. I really really want it, and it would be perfect for my work. Just way way WAY too pricey though.

Been using a chrome citizen everyday, on and off my bike for six months now and its brilliant no complaints whatsoever. I pack it to the brim with stuff and there's no sign of wear. They cost a bit more here in the uk but was still well worth it.

Beautiful and elegant design backpack. I own two of these, black and dark grey, and I must say that these are wonderful for my everyday use. They do in fact fit your 15" MBP or retina MBP, just make sure you have a slim case so it won't collide with the zipper of the backpack.

There is also a larger 16" size if you feel this backpack may be a bit too small for you.

Hey check out the link for the chrome messenger again, I was on my phone and their mobile site doesn't have many pictures, I linked you to the full site and they have more close up pictures.

Here it is if you don't want to go back to the other post http://www.chromebagsstore.com/bags/...messenger.html

Its basically waterproof because of the truck bed liner that they use on the inside as well as the weatherproof outer material, pretty sure it would hold up better in the rain than the colcasac.

here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFUWV1CWsVE
