Cisco AnyConnect and VMWare View

This is a bit of an esoteric problem. We use Cisco AnyConnect to establish a VPN connection to work then use VMWare View to connect to a Virtual Desktop.

If I use my MBA11, either the 2010 or the 2012, to connect to a WindowsXP desktop image, the performance is great. If I connect to a Windows7 desktop image the performance is terrible. The Win7 virtual desktop paints the screen, it's that slow.

So, through experimentation I've discovered that if I start with a clean OSX install, and only install AnyConnect and VMWare View, both XP and Win7 performance is great. This leads me to believe it's an application I've installed, but other than trial and error, I have no way to determine which app it is. CPU, memory, disk and network all look fine.

Any other ideas, other than trial and error, for identifying the culprit?

EDIT: A bit of an esoteric problem, to be sure.
