First off, I guess I should ask if the orange one ( for ipad 2) will fit the new ipad, just like the newer smart covers.

And if it does fit good, where can I find one? The one on Amazon is supposedly fake, and its out of stock everywhere else.... any help?

Thanks

I think there's only a red, but it's orange-y. My local Apple store has them.

I had ordered mine from Small Dog for $19.99. Works great on the iPad 3.

A lot of the Apple Retailers online have them. You're gonna have to do some searching. This is the part no. MC945LL/A

Here is one but I think you have to call or pickup in store.

I also read that some of the older smart covers like the orange one don't work properly with the iPad 3. Is there a way to tell if the one I want to order will work with my Ipad3???

I don't know if it does or doesn't. If you get it and it doesn't work, either return or go to the Apple store and ask for an exchange. Its their product from an authorized dealer.

A friend of mine has a smart cover for the 1st/2nd Gen, I have to check and see if it works on mine.

I'm still deciding on if I want one.
