1gb amd 6770m vs 512 mb gt 650m

Hey all, I'm needing to upgrade my computer very soon and would love to get a Macbook pro. However, i'm deciding if I should go for a late 2011 model which has the 1gb amd 6770m or get the base non retina model which has the 512 mb gt 650m. It's either between those two as the base non retina display model, which is the more expensive one, is my spending limit. I do plan on gaming on this system, when I'm not working, so getting medium to high settings are fine for me. Occasionally I will use an external monitor for the system so I will playing games not just at the normal 1440x900 resolution. Any ideas which one I should get?

650M it's better if you're gonna play at 1440x900, 6770 it's better if you plan on playing on higher resolutions, maybe a 27" thunderbolt display.

The more MBs on the GPU (this time 512MB against 1GB) means it can run at higher resolutions with better fps.

I am also thinking about the new Macbook pro 2012 with 512 MB. Are the 512MB VRAM also enough for gaming with the high res version?

From what I've gathered it seems that the 1gb 6770m would be better to game on at a higher resolution. While the 512mb gt 650m would get significantly lower frames at higher resolutions.
