Time Capsule wireless questions (802.11n vs ac)

I've got kinda of a noob wireless question.

I've been waiting to buy a Time Capsule until apple releases a 802.11ac version but then I thought about it...

Right now Comcast gives me 30Mbs down. With those speeds from the cable company I wouldn't even notice the difference between 802.11n and a 802.11ac router would I?

nope, the only thing you'll see an improvement in is traffic that's completely internal to your network.

802.11G is faster than a lot of home internet connections.

Your backups will sync much quicker with an 802.11ac time capsule, but your computer would have to have 802.11ac as well, and apple has yet to release a computer with 802.11ac yet. If your planning on waiting to buy both an apple computer and time machine with 802.11ac then it would make a difference.

I wouldn't hold my breath (waiting to buy ) a Time Capsule with 802.11ac wifi standard....it's not going to happen soon. Will be a year or more because no current Apple or Non-Apple devices are even capable of the 802.11ac standard. There are new routers from Netgear and maybe Cisco, but whats the point in purchasing them because we don't know if it will become a ratified standard for Wifi. They are just cutting edge, but with no devices that can pair at that standard.

I wouldn't say there's much point in waiting for 802.11ac unless you're willing to wait for a year or more. The whole MacBook range has just been refreshed and none of the new laptops have 802.11ac, and it seems unlikely Apple would release an 802.11ac router until there are 802.11ac Macs.
