I have a user who literally keeps all of his email locally on his machine. His profile has grown to a little over 40GB's of contacts, email, and calendar events. This slows down his machine when Outlook is open. As far as I can tell, the size of the profile falls within what is supported. When Outlook is open for a few minutes, the beach ball appears for 15-45 seconds every couple of minutes. It's annoying to the user.

Is there some way to break up the profile within Outlook 2011? For instance, on a windows machine, you can have multiple PST files. But a Mac can't have more than a single OLM? Also, it's so big that the user has already experienced some data loss. He's missing some of his sent items that he saved locally. Luckily, he has a time machine backup of everything (when the sent items were still there). Is there some easy way to extract certain email folders from a time machine backup?
