My first phone was a Qualcomm Kyocera QCP 2035

I think I got it around 2000.

I didn't get my own cell phone until after college, I thought they were pointless (I was a little stupid about technology then lol). My first was a Motorola Q.

I really liked this phone, but verizon kept jacking up the minutes. (pre pay by the minute phone). Great battery life, call quality, rugged, and the voice recognition was the best of any phone I've had, including my iPhone.

I actually liked this phone a lot despite how crappy Verizon was in my area. With the extended battery, this thing would last me a long time.

Motorola Flipside = Bad Idea

Buggy: Icons kept switching around without me touching it. Bad touch recognition, horrible Android.

Bad Build Quality: Dropped it once, it died

Good BYE

In a few months, I got my iPhone 3GS!

Hey, wow. I was in the same boat. Same exact story, and same exact phone model and everything.

When I finally got a phone that I wanted, it was between the Sidekick 3 and the Helio Ocean. I wonder what ever happened to Helio.

I went with the Sidekick.

Still probably my favorite phone. If they didn't make the new one just another Android phone, I would have probably gotten it.

The walkie-talkie came in handy, especially when we went on cruises every year. The dedicated walkie-talkie beat the hell out of the ones you could by anywhere.

It was great in the same way texting is great, since you can walkie and say what needs to be said and it's done with. Also, they have no choice but to answer it.

Horrible bloody thing it was too, thinking back. Very plasticky feel and with an enormous sticky out antenna even for the year. I remember wishing I'd got a Nokia instead.

A bank here in the Netherlands back in 2000 gave you this mobile phone if you opened an account with for more than a year.
The Postbank phone as it became known was a very big success.

I used mine for years.

That looks a lot like my first phone, but I can't remember exactly. The one after that was the Vodafone MN1, which everybody had for about 6 months before we all started getting Nokia 3310s. After a succession of different Nokias, all of which have been posted already, (the 8210 was my favourite), I got a crappy HTC S620 with Windows Mobile 5. Surprisingly it didn't turn me off smartphones altogether; it just made me appreciated the iPhone 3GS all the more when I finally got it!

I have blanked out the memory of the LiMo-limping (not running) Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 I had for about 2 months in between.

That was the phone my employer made me use! Predates the "Blackberry" wheel by quite a bit, but had completely forgotten about until now.

Also, seeing that Startac just above me, the last great Motorola (opinion here) - insanely tough, even of the antennas were not. At least they were cheap. They also had a nasty habit of ripping the hairs out of your head just above the ear if you let your guard down!

Ahh... Back when belt clips were required by anyone SRS bout BZNS.
