128gb or 256gb SSD?

Hello,
I'm just one click away from entering the Apple world for the very first time, and not being too computer savvy, I'm very much confused. I would really appreciate your advice.

I'm entering grad school (healthcare related) and I plan to use 13" macbook pro as an only computer to last me the next 3-4 years.
Not sure if I'll have to install additional software for my studies, but I have mainly documents, want to use Windows (through parallels?), photoshop, and ~10GB of music.
I am not a gamer, but I do watch movies online (not sure if this matters).

Some say 128GB is plenty (or with an external),
and others say invest in the 256GB SSD... and both sounds right...

if you'll vote for 128GB, if you could also recommend which external drives are good? too many choices......

what shall i buy?

thanks so much!!!

If you can afford a 256gb, I'd get that.

There are a lot of good external HDD nowadays. What is your budget? Do you prefer external or internal?

If you're buying the M4, the write speed is faster on 256GB.

If you are going to use windows, your parallels virtual machine file will probably swell to about 30-40GB...

and if you ever decide to put music, music, etc it will fill up very fast...

Go with the Samsung 830 256GB version. The read/write speeds are among the fastest available at present. If you don't have a need for the ODD put the HDD you replaced with the SSD in the ODD slot. That should give you plenty of storage.
