Installed a new hard drive in my MBP and formatted it using Drive Genius. During SL install when it comes to the window where you choose which hard drive to install to, there are no drives showing up in the window. Tried it 3 times with the same results.

When I use Drive Genius to check the new hard drive, it fails the integrity check....BUT...this is the second drive from the supplier because I had the exact same problems with the first one-it too failed the integrity check. Surely I have not received TWO BAD brand new hard drives.

Any ideas on where to go next...I've read that failing RAM can cause similar problems.

Thanks~

didn't help

I appreciate your reply and the links, but neither of these things helped.

I tried them anyway, but got the following error message: Partition (and Disk Erase) failed with the error: POSIX reports: The operation couldn't be completed. Cannot allocate memory

I am wondering if that is an indication of some bad RAM...
