Client Finder unable to search server shares?

Got a strange problem with some share points...

At the moment we are having to use Dropbox to allow some remote users to access some shares - those folders are not showing up search results for local clients when searching in Finder (or Spotlight)..

I've compared the _spotlight permissions and they are the same but still users cannot search the sharepoint that lives in Dropbox..

Has anyone else seen this?
