Hello.
I have just bought an (not delivered yet) Apple TV and am soon going to buy an iMac (as soon as they come out blah blah blah..... Lol) My quesion is... When you find your computer through the Apple TV to play a cartoon for the little un.. Can you still use your computer for other things while it is streaming to Apple TV or is that it... Its not mirroring so I assume it will work but I was just interested..

Cheers

there's 2 ways to do it, home sharing and airplay

home sharing lets you browse you library from your aTV, selecting what you want to watch there. All your computer does is send the file.

airplay, you select what you want to watch in iTunes, and send it to the TV. I believe in this case it still just sends the file, but "keeps an eye on it" to keep the display on your mac updated.

in either case your computer isn't locked out.
