Thanks for the fast answer. Now the question.

Shall I pull out the 2 x 2GB's that are already there and install 4x 4GB's or just add 2x 4GB's extra.

Will i feel a difference between having 12 or 16 GB's of ram ?

16 GB is substantially better than 12 GB. Plus then all the RAM will be the same type which is even better.

Well, in normal use you'd saturate neither 12GB nor 16GB. But selling the 2x2GB doesn't make much sense in that you wouldn't get any substantial money from that if you did.

EDIT: On the other hand, it doesn't hurt having them lying around knowing that they're not worth much anyway.
