Does the transaction need to be done at an AT&T store or is everything based on the sim card? I know with Verizon you need to have ESN verified. Is it the same with AT&T, or is it just pop a sim in and go?

I think just recently AT&T started a program about that. It was posted on the front page on MR.
if iCloud is turned on and the original owner is still tracking it daily... you'll lose that iPhone.
