2012 MBA i5 8GB and .NET dev stack
I still am getting blown away with how well the new MBA handles anything you throw at it, screenshot below shows a Fusion4 Win7 setup compiling a rather complex .NET/C++ setup (119 projects including mixed and native code), I started comparing build times across different Memory/Core setup for Fusion, some brief results for comparison:
VM 2cores/3072GB RAM: msbuild takes 2:23min VM 4cores/4096GB RAM: msbuild takes 2:00min to compare, my main dev box is a 8core Xeon with 24GB + SAS Drives in RAID, same project compiles in 0:48min - I say the MBA does really well, especially considering it's a sub 3lbs setup ... and the 1080p youtube video was just to see how hot the mac can get

Nice! I've really been liking the perf of VS2010 in Win7 64 on Parallels with 2 cores/3 GB. This is a beastly little 3 pound machine.

Oh, thank you so much for posting this! Now I'm much more comfortable going for the i5 over the i7...
