What's your verdict?
On my Late 2009 Mac Mini it is flying fast. I didn't expect that performance will improve that much. Definitely tangible gain there.

Isn't it a bit early for a verdict? Give it some time..

def a speed boost, and so far, most things work. but agreed, it's way too soon for a verdict...

I've only had it installed for an hour, but I gotta say I like ML. Dictation is really cool, Safari is definitely better, battery life got slightly better, notes are useful.
I'm annoyed by: - battery life status - anyone knows if you can display remaining battery time? It seems that there's only % option and you gotta point on the battery to see time status. - notifications center - is there a way to get rid of it from the main status bar? Really don't need it and prefer the old layout. Other than that it's nice.

Definitely the upgrade needed for rMBP's along with the software updates.
But like many, OS X is really starting to age in my eyes. Apple needs to reinvent their desktop computing experience, because this is just getting old. ML is great and fast and has a bunch of improvements, they just need to start making moves to grow more competitive.

It's funny how the Windows reviews all diss and hate the complete redesign of Windows 8, saying Metro sucks and "Windows 7 forever!"
Yet on Apple side everyone uses Windows 8 and Metro as example of awesome innovation, and incredible new OS, saying "too bad Apple didn't do the same thing." |

I'm gonna hold off before I rate ML. So far I'm impressed, especially with how fast Safari is.

The people who are crying about Windows 8 are the hardcore users who ironically are usually the ones most vocal about any changes. 90% of the user base will love Metro, even on desktops.

These are the users still running XP Pro with 4-8GB of ram not realizing their 32bit OS only supports 3.5GB but claim W7 is inferior to XP because it resembles Vista.

While I think ML is a great release, I simply think Apple can do better. Their focus is strongly oriented towards iOS and I think they should bring something new to OS X. What I'm trying to emphasize is the belief that Apple can do better. There's nothing wrong with ML at all, but I expect more from Apple.

I'm a fan so far. Safari is improved, and my computer seems to be responding a bit more quickly.
I do tons of typing for work, and I'm looking forward to trying the dictation out. I'm a sucker for the iOS integration, too. |

So far I'm very impressed, everything has gone smoothly so far (cross fingers). The only problem I've come across so far is that dictation doesn't work... don't know why.

I'm very impressed with it so far. My machine feels faster than ever. as far as capability guys I think its top-notch. This entire message was done with dictation.

For all we know it could take off and become the next big thing...stranger things have happened. OS X is ageing...it needs a MAJOR UI overhaul, not a conversion to the also ageing iOS UI. ---------- Unless they are running the 64bit versions of XP that is!

did you experience slow downs in Lion? I'm on a Macbook 2010 and I find Lion to be so slow, with apps like iTunes taking up to a minute to stop bouncing in the dock.

5*
Quicker, more refined Lion. Dictation is great, so is Notification Centre. My only gripe is RSS feeds being taken out of Mail, but I guess I can adapt.

Didn't need the update for anything practical, and what I do for work doesn't change at all and isn't really improved by ML. Just did the update for fun and for stuff like messages, etc. But after an hour, I'm sold. Very very very fast and so far I like the few new features I've been able to play with. Very happy, 5 stars.

There needs to be a 6th option:
"I'll let you know when Apple sorts out the up to date program" |

4 Stars, Cause it works fine.
Not 5 stars, cause come on... As if I'm ever gonna use Notes, Reminders and the Notification Center?!
