I installed one in my mid-2010 MBP a month ago running lion. no problems at all.

Upgraded to Mountain Lion today, It was an epic failure.
Had to reinstall mountain lion to my hard disc that's still in the mbp.
don't know what to do to get to all my files on my ssd and get it to work.

Have it installed on
an Intel 80GB SSD in my wife's '09 iMac
a ForceGT in my '11 iMac
and a ForceGT in my wife's '09 MBP

all of the above are working just fine.
Clean installs all around.

I have a 60GB OWC SSD and the install went fine. Rather speedy too. ML is actually 8-10% faster on my mini according to the benchmarks I ran after the installation completed.

Did you do a fresh install or was it already installed and running lion and you just did an upgrade? Have you used a third party trim enabler?

I did a fresh install of Lion when I originally installed the ssd drive..that was about 1 1/2 months ago...ive installed mountain lion this morning, didnt do a fresh install since i already did with Lion and I also keep my working files/documents/photos/music on a separate hard drive via western digital my passport..I only have emails and programs on my mpb only, I completely work off of my portable hd...and I also do not have trim enabled..

I had a problem

ML installer aborted when I tried to install on a Crucial 250 GB drive on a spring 2011 i7 MBPro. Error: Could not create recovery system.

I have it installed on a Crucial m4. I upgraded from Lion with no issues during the download or installation process. However, it did turn off the TRIM support that I had placed, but I was glad that the same process works on ML as well.

And according to System Info, my recovery drive is 650MB. I booted into that after I installed to do a random repair/verify of my disks.

not positive what you're asking..
I installed onto my samsung 830 ssd first, didn't work. that will only boot in recovery mode.

when i enter recovery mode it gives me the option to reinstall ML, so i chose this option and installed ML onto the MBP's original hard disc, which i was using to store files and stuff i don't always need.

kind of stuck here. need to find a way to get my ssd working again.

is there a way to figure out what i did wrong and fix it?

What i'm doing now to fix this is going to take forever.

moving all my files on my hard disc to an external, copying over all my system settings and apps from my ssd which is in recovery mode to my HD which is working, then using CCC to copy over from the HD to the SSD.

This is literally going to take me days.

Using OCZ agility3 as boot/apps/OS drive and no problems here. I think the controller is a sand force.

Failed install on Crucial M4

I tried to do un upgrade on my Crucial M4 256 - install failed and trashed the system on the drive so that it would not boot. Installed ML on another drive in my Mac Pro, wiped my ssd, still would not install. In desperation I kept running Disk Repair and after two Disk Repairs the install finally took.

I had a Time Machine backup, but it would not restore - I didn't know there was a problem using one TM disk for multiple source volumes. TM kept trying to Restore 3 hard drives onto the ssd. Had to manually copy files across, including prefs, etc. to get things back working. Took hours. Worst problem I've ever had with an OS update (user since System 6 in 1990).

Oh, yeah, the sad is three weeks old. Now that I have it working, the Mac does seem a little faster than in Snow Leopard. And I dislike that you cannot set a default font in Safari without making a .css file, and I also need to figure out how to turn off Screen Saver requiring a password.

one of the fix's that i saw worked for at least a few people was go into disk utility and resize the partition for the OS down by 1gb giving the install space to put a recovery partition on. Didnt work for me though but only takes a few minutes to do and is worth trying.

One of the other solutions is to wipe the drive clean and do a fresh install, I may end up doing this but i'm going to try a few other things first

I tried reseting my PRAM as i saw some people do that but it didn't work. I'm in SAFE MODE now trying to get some files off.

so would these instructions be applicable to doing a fresh install of mountain lion on a new ssd. I want a clean install, new drive, new os, like a new MacBook . thx

If you make the ML USB installer you can do a clean install on your SSD. That's exactly how I did it on my new SSD.
