MacBook Pro goes into sudden hibernation/sleep mode abruptly

The NO NAME and disk1 is probably my Kindle. But what's up with my Mac going into sleep mode? It's been doing this ever since I got it, and is now doing this under Mountain Lion too.

My 2011 MBP seems to be experiencing similar random sleeps.
Could you elaborate on the reason for taking it in for repair?

First things first, just be double sure to go into your energy savings and make sure that the 'schedule' isn't set for any power down times.

Then I'd try and set hibernate mode to 0.

Open Terminal from Utilities and type:

sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0

Hopefully that will help.

Also reset the SMC:

Press Command + Option + Escape to force quit any application that is not responding.
Put your Mac to sleep by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Sleep. Wake the computer after it has gone to sleep.
Restart your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Restart.
Shut down your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Shut Down.

I think we may be having similar issues after looking at your log. (specifically the line: WindowServer[85]: handle_will_sleep_auth_and_shield_windows: no lock state data) There is another thread here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1420085/ might be helpful to watch both threads to see if we can find a solution.

The events right before "Created shield window" and "device_generate_desktop_screenshot" lead to the hibernate or sleep. Please carefully check what those are to get a hint what could be the cause. In the case of the first poster (the one who started the thread), its probably the kindle not getting properly mounted in the macbook. There is a problem of mounting the kindle disk and unmounting. Eventually that leads the macbook to go to hibernate mode. There are actually several kinds of system errors that can lead to the macbook pro go to sleep. In the case of the other poster: zmit, he has not posted the logs prior to the "Created shield window" and "device_generate_desktop_screenshot". In my case, the problem was due to Chrome and GoogleSoftwareUpdate.

I am still using Mountain Lion in 2015 and had this issue for one whole day, yesterday. Resetting SMC and PRAM did not help. Found from the logs that everything started happening after a GoogleSoftwareUpdate, after which a lot of software updates occurred and then this problem started. Remembered then, that the day before I had started using Chrome when debugging a program using Netbeans and had in the process installed Chrome. So I uninstalled Chrome (I anyway use the Macs Safari and don't like the lack of privacy and control over info going in and taken out when using Chrome) and GoogleSoftwareUpdate and so far the problem has disappeared. I have for good measure also uninstalled NetBeans but I think the problem is mainly due to the GoogleSoftwareUpdate s which screwed some system preference. Also, I have made sure that now the screensaver kicks in much later (example never), because sometimes the screensaver kicking in early even if the sleeps are set for 1-3 hours can cause the computer to go to sleep. Hope that this may solve problems to anyone going through what I did yesterday.

Please note that if you are having recurring problems like this in Lion and Mountain Lion, you can consider upgrading to Yosemite where this problem may disappear. Yesterday, while trolling through all posts regarding this issue, I found they were all for Lion and Mountain Lion, none for Yosemite.

Did you recently get an Apple Watch with a magnetic band? I suddenly started getting the same problem but I soon realized it was my watch band triggering the sleep mode.
