Can I install Mountion Lion on a Macbook 2,1 with Ram Upgrade?

So I have a Macbook 2,1 I want to install ML on, and I upgraded the Ram to 4GB. Can I install ML and will it run OK?

I don't think Mountain Lion supports that model, unfortunately. The culprit is probably the GMA 950 video card.

Not even with 4GB of ram ): How about Lion at least?

I've got a MBP 3,1 with 4gigs of RAM. I've been wondering the same; I think technically, my machine will support it, but I don't know if the whole experience will be a good one. Lion currently runs well, a little slow, but well. I don't want to end up in a similar spot like I did with my iPhone 3G, which technically ran iOS 4, but was very slow doing it.

Even if it can support 16GB, as of now, ML is not supported on MB 1,1 up to MB 4,1.

I think that will work with Mountain Lion. I wouldn't worry about performance as it seems to be better than Lion across the board.

There have been several guides posted concerning this. If you search GUIDE under "search this forum" as pictured below and scroll through you will find a variety of guides attempting to get Mountain Lion to run on old unsupported Macs. Depending on how skilled you are though, it might be better for you to just keep your Mac at the latest supported version of OS X. I'm sure the posts in the threads will help you get a better idea of how your MacBook might handle it though.

I've MB 3,1 with 2GB RAM & V. OS X 10.6.8.; also have iPad 3 with iOS 6 and iPhone 4 with iOS 6.
Nov 2012 Macworld (UK) says with "OS X 10.6 or later...a late 2008 MacBook...; or an iPhone or iPad... upgraded to iOS 6 ... installing Mountain Lion is no-brainer" (p. 31). But how? What are the steps to follow? The link suggested by MW bit.ly/LgdJwB leads to nothing. Can anybody help?
