Mac + XBMC + AIRPLAY = Joy?
Has anyone tried to load XBMC on your Mac with Mountain Lion and stream it to your Apple TV (2 or 3) using Airplay? I'm currently in the middle of backing up my MBP but I'll try it tomorrow with a Apple TV 2.

I haven't tried it yet but I'm assuming you can just use airplay mirroring to get xbmc to your tv using even apple tv 3. Maybe not as convenient as a jailbreak, but since you can't currently jailbreak the 3rd gen its a pretty viable option.

Doesn't one of the more recent builds of XBMC already suppport AirPlay natively?

= no surround sound.
= FAIL for Airplay, at least for my requirements.

Yes it does, I do it using my iPhone 4 and it works just as good as the Apple TV in that regards. My macbook pro is too old for airplay mirroring in mountain lion so unfortunately so I cannot test that
