Got a tough question for you....
I just partitioned my HD and installed mountain lion.
When I boot up into mountain lion and I spotlight for applications, apps show up from the
old lion partition and seem to run fine. Is there any reason to re-install apps on mountain lion
if I already have em on my old lion partition? I need to know because im getting real low on HD
space and dont have much room to install the same applications twice on my computer.
If anyone knows the answer let me know!!
Thanks!!

I've been in a similar situation myself.

Some apps may run without any problems at all.

Others may -not- run if not on the same partition as the OS (thinking of licensing issues here)

You may experience problems when -updating- certain apps.

I'd say just keep doing what you're doing. If a particular app causes problems trying to run "cross-partitions", then it's time to put a second copy on the new partition.

Best solution: get a larger hard drive.
