Force Mountain Lion to use your phone number as Caller ID

The most annoying thing with Mountain Lion, imo, is that iMessage only can send messages from your your Apple ID/A validated email Address. If you try add your phone number it will just return an error. So I am wondering if someone much smarter than me could tell me if it would be possible to edit a .plist or something similar to force your phone number to show up under caller ID's?

Just wait until iOS 6 comes out. You'll be able to link your mobile number to your Apple ID. I'd assume Messages in ML will get the same treatment.
