I recently notice that my late 08 MBP it's taking too long to shut down. It's down to almost 40 seconds to shutdown. Is this normal?

I'm not sure if it started when I installed Mountain Lion or if is was like this before.

I' have a samsung SSD installed with TRIM enable which makes it boot up within 10 seconds but I'm not sure if it's suppose to make it shut down faster too.

I know that if an app its running while trying to shut down it may cause it to take a little longer but, I haven't found any app that it's running while shutting down.

I also have 3 VM created in parallels but they are on a external HDD.

I guess what I'm trying to find its some peace of mind that the SSD is not at fault and maybe that this is just normal?

If it isn't normal, what could be the cause of it cause I surely can't find it.
