I looked for other threads about RMBP temps but couldn't find a suitable one... Anyway, I have the base model RMBP and have been very happy with it.
However, I noticed that during import of movie clips into Final Cut Pro X, the temperatures as shown by iStatPro jumped up to 103 C and stayed in 98 - 102 C range during the whole 15 minute import. Fans ran at about 4500rpm.
This caught my eye because otherwise, even during high CPU load, the temperatures have been much lower. For example, during the background transcoding and analysis phase for the imported movie clips, temperatures were at about 75 C and fans were not running. This has also been true for other high load situations.
I'm not yet too worried about this, but it would be interesting to hear from other RMBP users (especially with FCPX) if they are experiencing similar thing or if they can import at lower temps.
