Hi everyone here!

I am a beginner game dev. I have a question that bothers me allot. We released an app a few weeks ago.

Do you know if I make an update for my app on the Appstore, does the app go to the first page there under the Release Date tab? or it stays on the same position as it was?

It feels like until the app was within 1-2 pages we had some downloads. The moment it went farther, numbers dropped drastically.

Just looking through a few apps I am familiar with, a point release does not move it up in the listings by release date.

At the moment, no.

Earlier this year, updates did bring you back to the front. Then they changed it.

It's a real problem -- I think Apple would like to have updates bring apps back to the front, since that motivates developers to make updates and improve apps. However, whenever they do this, the store gets filled with trivial updates since folks take advantage of the system.

So basically you never know how it will work. But right now, no.
