Problem with java (VM)

I have a problem with accessing to some pages with want a "JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE"

For example my online internet banking needs that. I cannot log there, because it says to me: You have missing a Java Virtual Machine in your browser. However I have got the newest update of Java, surely.

So what gonna I can do. to fix that?

any ideas please?

Open your Java preferences to check if the virtual machine is on and if the applet plugins check box is checked. Also, check within the safari preferences if java is enabled.

Bit of a warning though: Java is often the entry point for all kinds of exploits and malware. You may want to turn all java off when you are not using it. (Not javascript, you should leave that on in the browser)

In Safari click the help menu then "Installed Plugins" and look on that list for the Java plugin. If you don't have it, you can get it here.

If you have a new Mac, it does not come with Java preinstalled.
