I have a hdmi cord, a mini dvi cord and a rca audio jack. My macbook is late 2008 and my vizio tv is brand new. I have successfully connected the displays, I can see everything, but when i put in the audi jack i cannot hear anything. How do i fix this problem?

Have you tried:

1) to make sure that your MacBooks volume is turned up and not on mute.

2) to make sure you're going from audio-OUT (headphone port) on your MB to an audio-IN on your tv. Also some tvs make you go through the settings to activate sound from an outside source.

3) a different audio cable. That one may be bad.
