Anyone camping out Next Thursday Night at the Arden Fair Mall Apple Store Location in Sacramento, CA ???

Does anyone know if Mall Security is letting anyone on the Mall Property after closing at 9pm Sept 20th Thursday ? Will there be a designated line up area ?

No information here, however I am considering cancelling my preorder to grab one in person on that day.

I plan on camping out. I called Apple and they said it should be roped off to stand in line outside the mall. However, she said that Apple is not in charge of it...its the mall security.

Anyone have an estimate of a "good" time to show up to line up? I don't need to be first 20...

I plan on being there, provided I can get the morning off from work.

I've heard that mall security won't let you on mall grounds until 4am, but will supposedly let you wait in your cars until then. Does that still hold?

Is it just me or does that just seem like it'll cause absolute chaos?

Everyone running from their cars? Not like everyone will wait until exactly 3am

I'm thinking about making the drive to Walnut Creek just so I don't have to deal with that

Yeah, camping out overnight and then having to race the rest of the mob to the spot where the line is seems a bit ridiculous. I'd hate to camp out in the parking lot overnight and then end up nowhere near the start of the line.

Anyone talked to Apple Store staff or mall security about this? If not I'll give them a ring after work and post the details here.

Okay, just taked to Arden Fair security. They said no parking at the mall until 5am, and no lining up until 6am.

UPDATE: Just talked to the Apple Store @ Arden Fair. They reiterated no lines on mall property until 6am, and redirected me to mall security to find out about parking.

I was there for the iPhone 4 launch. They didn't allow cars in the parking lot but everyone just made a line out on the public sidewalk near the main entrance on Arden Way. At around 3 am mall security came and handed out numbers to everyone in the line on the sidewalk and told them to come back and line up in front of the mall store at 6:30am. Then they led the line into the mall to the Apple store.

Just go off the phone with mall security. They said that no lines can be formed until 6. You can wait in your car starting at 4.

That is going to be crazy starting at 6 then. I'm sure people will try to run in early.

Checking Twitter... Looks like people are lining up at the bus stop. At least 10 people there already.

EDIT: Never mind. That's the Galleria.

It was probably related to a Jordan release. Why can't they realize we're not the same crowd!

Ugh. Arden had tons left around 2PM when I called today, but I couldn't get there until 3:30 or so and they sold out by the time I got there.
