The queues already 60-80 deep. Lots of big gaps being left, but so far it's snaked round to the Lloyds TSB entrance on St Vincent Street. Forgot how cringe worthy Glasgow is with folks coming out of clubs.

Arrived @ 5:25, q now round past all bar one. Lots of gaps @ front tighter back here.

It's looking very busy. Just been told they will be splitting the queue soon for contracts/sim only. Wonder how that will work without queue jumpers!

What's the current situation for either of the Apple stores- anyone heard about stock levels?
And are Three shops selling the phone contact free, and what are their stock levels like?
Lastly, if I get it contract free, can Three swap my sim in store?

I heard that Braehead have quite a lot of stock.

Other than Apple, the phone shops are under pressure to sell them with contracts, so while there may be spare phones, especially 32 & 64, I've not managed to be allowed to buy one

Braehead have "limited stock" at the moment. Can't say what of or how many though.

A mate of mines went to Braehead at 6am today, was a ghost town apparently. No one was around and the doors were locked too. No campers either. Checked the HMV entrance and the other end too - nothing.

He got in the car and went into the Buchanan st store. Queue was massive apparently

Yeah line at Buchanan street was big this morning, arrived just after 4am, and was qued round at the TSB Bank. Got into the store about 8:30, and was done and dusted for just after 9am. I paid with card and was taken fairly quickly, my two mates were paying cash, and took an extra half hour. Seems as though Apple still don't know how to deal with hard cash, always seems to have a problem with paying by anything other card. The line outside was still massive at 9:30, qued right around to the bank 3 lanes deep and outside the store 4 or 5 lanes deep.

Picked up a black 16GB, now just awaiting activation from Three for my replacement PAYGO sim.

Yes, I was asked if I required a sim, I had one coming from Three but I thought I'd get a "replacement" sim anyway, the replacement sims don't come with phone numbers, therefor I had to give my exisiting number at the store, my phone hasn't activated yet, but because I was keeping my old number, I opted for a replacement. My mate, just picked up a normal three PAYGO sim which had £15 of credit on it, he was charged the £15 by the apple store, so I guess you should be able to get a sim either way, at least on Three as far as I know.
