iPhone 5 - Highcross Leicester UK

Anybody here going down to the Highcross store? Got there around 6:30am for the 4S launch last year with around 150 people infront of me, expecting bigger queues this year!

Yup I am thinking of joining the line this year. Never done it before. Was thinking 6.30 as well but not to sure now. Doesn't highcross open later on?

It's a great experience, even without the free Starbucks stuff. After looking at the sales figures for the iPhone 5, I've decided to get there for 4am just to make sure!

Yeah I am excited. Dragging my cousin sister along. The thought of 4am is freaky! How many people actually got hands on a 4s last year. Everyone that was in the line?

Very freaky! Not sure how many, but I do know that a lot of people in the queue didn't get one, and they had sold out of all 16GB models by the time they got to me (they go down the line handing out tickets for each iPhone they have) due to a lot of suspected scalpers buying as many iPhones as they can. If you want a white or 16GB model, I'd say 6:30 is a little too late!

Well I ain't after the white but I want two 16. One for me and one for my brother. I know what you mean though. Better early. Only one day (he reassures himself hesitantly lol)

Last year I was there at 5:24am and got my black 64GB at 9:15am.

I was thinking 5.30 ish should be okay.. haven't made my mind up. I will probably decide on Thursday evening :P

Someone queued from 8pm the previous day at the 4S launch so I can imagine there being a lot of people around at 5am! I just hope the weather is good as its a little exposed between the car park and shopping centre!

If you get there for 5:30 - 6:00 am I am sure you will have a pretty good chance of getting the model you are after, as apple will have at least 150-200+ stock of each Version. Don't forget they will be selling the iPhone 5 way into the evening.

150 x 3 = 450. I doubt at that time there will be 300+ people queuing.

You'd be suprised, the sold out of 4S's before the store opened at 8am last year, meaning not eveyone in the queue got one! They may have more stock this year, but there is also increased demand! There were also a lot of people buying 2 each and bringing their family members to buy more, probably to make some money selling them on

It's fair to say 16GB will be extinct earlier before the 32 and 64.

True say, it's the ppl that sell them on that ruin it for everyone. Anyway, hopefully I can get my hands on a 16gb model if I get their early enough. I hope they have enough stock to see through all the early people queuing.

They usually go down the queue with allocation cards for your particular desired model.

With the 16GB models going for at least £600 on eBay it's not a bad idea to buy as many as you can! The white 16's were first to sell out at the Highcross last year, although the black 32's were first to sell out online this year... Which is what I'm going for

since the car park is 24/7 will everyone be queing upstairs? since thats where the apple shop is.

Queue starts at the entrance by Next, there will be barriers in place for queuing and they will most likely open the doors around 7am. Once inside, the queue goes in front of Republic, Topshop and H&M upstairs.
