I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 and I started using Google chrome today and it keeps giving me this yellow bar error whenever I visit a website that runs flash (YouTube, Facebook, etc) and it says "Adobe Flash Player was blocked because it is out of date" I did the proper fixes on how to get rid of the problem, I downloaded the the plug-in, updated it, uninstalled flash and reinstalled, re-installed google chrome, everything that it told me to do, yet it still shows that problem. I can still view flash related things, but I have to hit the "run at this time" button for it to work, and it's annoying to do that everytime I want to watch a YouTube video. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

I did disable flash, tried watching some youtube videos, some videos did work no problem but then every video I tried to watch just told me I need to update flash or have it installed.
Hey I had the same issue with the same OS version, and the current version of Chrome.
To fix this, type in "chrome : plugins" (don't use spaces on either side of the : I just put them there because the :+P =
haha) into the address bar to bring up Chrome prefs, it says "Flash - Version: 10.3.183.23 Download Critical Security Update" with the new version already installed, click "disable" on the toggle for Flash. It will go grey (inactive). Try loading youtube or simply this page. It worked for me! Hope it worked for you.

I'm having this exact problem as well on version 10.5.8, and so are several of my friends. Hopefully it gets fixed. Posting here so I remember to come back.
I'm surprised in the first place that Google has decided to not release further updates of Chrome for 10.5.8 and earlier... it seems like doing that is cutting off a large number of people in their customer base. I mean.. come on guys.. I only bought my computer 4 years ago.. is that really long enough ago for obsolescence these days??

I've been having the same problem, and likewise, I hadn't planned on updating to Lion until I get a new mac.. which will probably be in the next two years but not guaranteed before.
In general those yellow notifications are obnoxious, hate how google does it in gmail to advertise chrome in other browsers... usually it's apple that gets called out for being an exclusive b***h.

So I went and disabled flash player but now it gives me this on youtube videos:
"The Adobe Flash Player is required for video playback. Get the latest Flash Player here."
I've checked the version of flash I have downloaded and the version it wants me to download. They're both the same (10.3.183.23.) Any help would be appreciated.

Google absurd policy
I found this problem EXTREMELY annoying...
The MacBook Pro I'm temporarily using (my own is under maintenance) is 2-3 years old and doesn't allow me to update to 10.6. So the solution would be:
1. throw away the machine and buy another one
2. renounce to Chrome, where I have all my information stored (link, bookmarks, login, etc.).
3. Keep clicking on "Run this time" every time I open a new page.
I can't do anything else then 3. Soluton 1 is the only one that would guarantee my security. How can Google and Adobe think I'm going to throw away a machine that is only slightly older then the latest version???
I think we are all becoming crazy in this world if we accept it.
