I don't know what I've done but before I upgraded to OS X 10.8.2 I could open files like MP4, AVI, MP3, MKV with QT7 but now I can't. I can't even open the application itself (ie. So it shows up on the dock).
It is visible in Activity Monitor though although it's using no RAM or anything

I can still open all those file types when I hit the space bar and the movie or song still plays but that's not really practical...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Um this thread can probably be closed, I found a solution.

Apparently upgrading to 10.8.2 also upgraded Quicktime, but because I had renamed Quicktime Player 7 to just "Quicktime Player" and moved it to my Apps folder (not Utilities) to replace QTX something got mixed up and broke QT7. I just downloaded QT7 again and installed it in the Utilities folder. Although now I can't detele the broken QT app
